@Alexis Jazz I have tried and tried but for some reason just can not get a box to display more then 1 pic and I have no idea how you got it aligned. That said I would like to feature 2 of my pics in the right collum. WPPilot, all photographers I checked who have multiple photos of their work on their profile appear to have substituted the template or made their own layout. I don't recommend you do that as it makes the wikicode much harder to read. It's technically possible to insert two images with the current template with this hack but it's very ugly. Not sure what to do

I am essentially being hounded by a user, he basically looks for photographs I've made, removes the categories and then puts them in new categories claiming they are "snapshots" while speedy deleting the original categories as "unuseful empty categories" (which comes off as vandalism to me, but I'm not sure if this idiosyncratic categorisation system could be considered as such, as I always try to follow conventions and he seems to actively remove those conventionally categorised). I'm pretty sure what they are trying to do is start a mass-deletion request claiming "these are just holiday snapshots, not real photographs" based purely on their own personal opinion that some of the images "don't fit in an encyclopedia" (as if the only educational value of files here is to serve Wikipedia).

They tried something similar last year and were warned to stop, my guess is that they just change their strategy but for the same intentions. I prefer to avoid conflict, but I'm not sure on how to go ahead, what can I best do to de-escalate? I can, I just prefer to minimise my exposure to stress due to a large number of ongoing real life legal procedures (all unrelated to intellectual property law or anything I do here), I generally hate the clique on clique fights typically seen the moment anyone reports anything that isn't an obvious vandal. As for your comment there, I see no logic in allowing a marginal user to create an article on one of the less well patrolled Wikis and then post images to that article that editors here unanimously reject. The "IN USE" rule depends on the WP users policing their own articles for this sort of stuff. Jameslwoodward, good catch. The Udelf/Udelh situation can be a bit confusing on UDR.
Rationally your argument does make sense and that was possibly the unwritten intent when the policy was created, but the policy as it exists doesn't support that. I'm not unsympathetic to your point of view, but codifying that won't be trivial. Generally the solution is to simply remove the use, and declare the removal on the DR for transparency. If everybody on Commons agrees that the image is crap it should be easy to keep it off the article so it remains unused. That's also what ultimately happened on Commons:Undeletion requests/Archive/2026-05#Please Restore File:Every Ism Creates a Schism.png, it wasn't in use when it was deleted.
Perhaps we could create a maintenance category for DRs with this issue. Maybe "Deletion requests for files with questionable educational value that are in use on small projects", something like that? - Alexis Jazz ^{ping plz} 20:20, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

Deletion category tags

Thanks for adding the Category:AI-generation related deletion requests/pending! I always forget about those. They do need a <noinclude> tag around them so that they don't pull all of the autogenerated daily and monthly deletion collection pages into the same category, though. I've wrapped some around it. Hello again Jazz, I have another riddle for you: I have decided to rename every photo or media item I have don as D Ramey Logan to Don Ramey Logan. New shortcuts just dropped

Hello. I have recently created the page COM:Arguments to avoid in deletion discussions for directing and educating users who made an erroneous argument in a deletion discussion (including nominators). While these are primarily designed for deletion discussions, they also work with undeletion discussions, in which you seem relatively active in.

Here are some shortcuts that I think are going to be used especially often:

• COM:ITSFAIRUSE - when someone defends an image as fair use
• COM:BADCC - when someone thinks that all Creative Commons licenses are allowed
• COM:IAMOWNER - when someone asserts he is the copyright owner without proof
• COM:IHAVEPERMISSION - when someone asserts he has permission without proof
• COM:MYPHOTO - when someone takes the photo without accounting for COM:DW or COM:FOP
• COM:IDONTLIKEIT - when someone nominates a file or supports deletion because he doesn't like the file in question with no guideline/policy based reason
