FESTIVAL FOR POSEIDON
(The Isthmian Games Of Ancient Greece)
(16:30)

Hardcopy: $225.00

PDF
$140.00

Advanced:
This is to date, my most modern work. It is a four-movement piece that depicts an ancient athletic and musical competition in honor of the Greek God, Poseidon. The first movement is a procession, in which hymns (usually voices with Harp accompaniment) were performed in route to the altar, where animals were slaughtered and feasted upon. The second movement portrays the athletic games and the third movement the musical competition, in which vocalists, pipers, horn players and trumpeters faced off to have the coveted medals placed round their necks. The Finale depicts the last part of the festival, in which the champions of the competitions danced in celebration of their triumph.

UP AT THE CAT'S MEOW
(5:10)
Hardcopy: $80.00

PDF
$50.00

Medium-Easy:
This one is a throw-back to the sounds of Duke Ellington and Count Basie, very elegant and sophisticated. The title was created by my girlfriend, Laura. I was talking to her on the phone and asked what she would be doing the next day. She started out by saying "Well, I'll be up at the cat's meow" (referring to her cats Minx and Sophie, who wake her every morning at the crack of dawn, or before). I immediately said "Hey, that would make a great title for a jazz tune".
Solos: Alto Sax 1 and Trumpet 2

NOT BAD FOR A MONDAY
(6:00)
Hardcopy: $80.00

PDF
$50.00

Medium-Easy:
This is a Blues chart with a twist. It is reminiscent of the blues- rock shuffle style of the late 60s and early 70s. My girlfriend Laura came up with this title as well. I called her at work one day and asked her how her day was going. She answered "Not bad for a Monday". I said "You've done it again, honey!"
Solos: Tenor Saxophone, Trombone 2 and Guitar.
