Announcement of Phitsanulok Province

Subject: The Official Seal of Phitsanulok Province

The Office of the Prime Minister issued Announcement No. 214 concerning the designation of provincial seals under the Official Seals Act, B.E. 2482 (1939), published in the Royal Gazette, Volume 121, Special Section 129 ง, on November 18, 2004. This announcement designated the official Seal of Phitsanulok Province to feature the image of "Phra Phuttha Chinnarat," the province's revered Buddha image. However, it has come to light that the official

Seal of Phitsanulok Province is currently being used incorrectly and does not accurately reflect

the Buddha image as defined in the aforementioned announcement.

To ensure the correct use of the official Seal in accordance with the original announcement—which stipulates that the base of the Phra Phuttha Chinnarat must be a double lotus base (featuring both upright and inverted petals) this document hereby establishes

the correct official Seal for Phitsanulok Province. The correct format of the official Seal is attached to this announcement. All parties are requested to cooperate in using the official Seal of Phitsanulok Province correctly. Furthermore, any requests for permission to use this official seal must strictly adhere to the relevant laws and regulations.

Hi, I would like to remove any unnecessary disputed territories (like Abkhazia, Kashmir, Sahrawi etc.) from these maps, and the information on some of them needs updating. I created lots of maps and spent a lot of time doing this. But I didn't realise before that it wasn't possible to delete existing maps, as they are linked to other articles. I fully  Support that Visa policy maps and/or visa requirement maps shouldn't be blocked for overwriting unless there's an ongoing edit war and if so, only temporarily. These files are naturally subject to change ✨Demmeow (talk) 16:54, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

I won’t touch on the issue of Kashmir in India. Nevertheless, Abkhazia and South Ossetia are not shown on the original map of Georgia. But I would like to point out that no one recognises Abkhazia and South Ossetia apart from the five members of the UN. And so, holders of passports from these territories are not valid for travel anywhere, and therefore there is no point in showing them on maps.Sobac49 (talk) 04:13, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

Yeah, I think it's better to rely on File:BlankMap-World.svg since most visa policy maps are already made using this template. File:World map configurable.svg just has too many territories for visa policy maps. For visa requirements maps its a different story since most of these territories need to be shown.

Everything you said can be done with just one command:

.xd, .xj, .xl, .xn, .xp, .xz { opacity: 0; } .xa(Abkhazia), .xo (South Ossetia) .xc(Northern Cyprus). This way you can also keep them if needed.

Crimea has a toggle .xq under .ru.

Allow overwriting of File:Mapeuropemediterranean climate.webp, because the map showing all of Turkish Thrace as having a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen: Csa) is false. The northern parts of Eastern Thrace, including most of Istanbul, have a humid subtropical climate (Köppen: Cfa) and an oceanic climate (Köppen: Cfb) (see top source and file). The natural vegetation of Istanbul and northern Eastern Thrace are not Mediterranean shrubs and dry forest either, but are humid temperate forests (see bottom source).
