A note on copyrights

The German state has usage rights for some of these photos. The German Federal Archive has in December 2008 released a number of 800px-reproductions of Hoffmann's photographs licensed as {{Cc-by-sa-3.0-de}}.

In the UK, the U.S. and in France, the photos of Heinrich Hoffmann held by the respective National Archives are in the public domain as seized enemy property. However, since these images are still copyrighted in Germany, they must not be uploaded to the Commons.
